Wouter Modderkolk

Workshop host, my true self

Wouter works since 2012 as a teacher, counselor and educational innovator at the Waldorf School in Zeist (the Netherlands,  Stichtse Vrije School). Before that he studied economics and educational science in Amsterdam. As Plutarch said: "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire” Wouter tries to get this fire burning using his enthusiasm for his students and the world and he tries to share his view of the world and discover new views with the students.

In addition to his work at the Waldorf School, he has been organizing summer camps for more than ten years for young people (13-18 old). The great thing about these summer camps is that you can get to know the world and each other in a relaxed atmosphere. He tries to bring back that relaxation and pleasure to his lessons every day.

GAME THEORY

The workshop that Wouter is going to give is about the game theory. "Game theory is a way of thinking about strategic situations. One aim of the workshop is to teach you some strategic considerations to take into account making your choices. A second aim is to predict how other people or organizations behave when they are in strategic settings. We will see that these aims are closely related. A third aim is to apply these tools to settings from economics and from elsewhere. The workshop will emphasize examples." We will also play various strategic games to experience the theory.
